When people become homeless their health deteriorates rapidly. Heirisson is working with Homeless Healthcare and other Rotary Clubs to develop a Medical Recovery Centre to provide pre and post hospital care for homeless people. The first of its kind in Australia. The benefits are to reduce repeat visits to emergency departments and re-admittance to hospital, address chronic health conditions, provide pathways out of homelessness and deliver significant savings to Western Australia’s health budget.
