Hi Folks,
Last week.....
Ken Mullin, brilliantly introduced by Jim Crossland, talked about the Kate Mullin Association. The KMA was set up by Ken and Don following the death of Ken's dear wife Kate from a tragic car accident. Kate was a specialist teacher who believed that literacy was the key to indigenous integration with white society and she was personally and actively involved with teaching indigenous children in remote parts of Australia. The KMA therefore offers an award for the most outstanding educator of those who apply each year and also Scholarships to young Aboriginal university students who will continue Kate's work on completing their teaching degrees and undertaking to teach at remote indigenous schools. Your very welcome donations to the KMA are tax deductible and the KMA is run purely by volunteers.(See Ken) Many thanks to Ken for bringing this story to Heirisson Rotary.

And here's a few pics of the fabulous Charity Auction Dinner last Saturday night and from all reports, it was a wonderful success! So a huge, huge thanks to all of the organising team.
And what about this man? Ian Cornell did a fabulous job and was an outstanding success getting top dollar for the items sold so a big thanks to him as well.

Here's a pic of the DD launch at RC Mill Point last Friday Night. Picture by President Don.
Attended by Keiren, Justin and Don. It was a great event, with several ducks in attendance (see photo), and much enthusiasm about making the 2021 Duck Derby a big success. Members of both clubs have commenced selling at Hillarys, and sales are going well. The photo shows from left is Russell Lanyon (obscured), David Tyler, Justin Walker and Brian Johnson (President RC of Mill Point).
