Heirisson Happenings

Hi Folks,

Last week.....

We heard from Warwick Smith on the subject of Health issues that Rotary Australia has an interest in! We all know of course that freeing the world of Polio is a very strong Rotary Worldwide pursuit but we all learned that research funded by Rotary Australia to the tune of two million dollars into Sudden Infant Death Syndrome had a dramatic effect worldwide reducing the incidence of SIDS by 80% which is truly wonderful. Rotary never ceases to surprise!! A big thanks to Warwick.

A SPECIAL MESSAGE ABOUT OUR PARTNER SCHOOL GIRRAWHEEN SHS

Girrawheen Senior High School invites you to attend their Annual Visual Arts Exhibition. This year’s title is Catalyst 2021.

The exhibition will feature visual artwork produced by secondary school students throughout 2021, as well as selected works produced by Year 5 and 6 students from surround primary schools. There will be awards presented for both primary school and secondary school categories at the opening event on Thursday 4th November at 5pm.

We hope to see you there supporting the artists, viewing the artwork and enjoying some light refreshments. Please RSVP by Monday 25th October.

So far, President Don and Allan will be attending the opening on 4th November, please give some thought to joining them. Although RSVP date is now one day overdue please let Don or Allan know straight away to be included.

The 'wind up' DD dinner Last friday night was attended by a dozen members of Heirisson and Millpoint members. Here's a few pics of that event at the Lebanese Restaurant at Hillarys Boat Harbour.
